JEWELRY / WEARABLE

You will create an original wearable work of art. This could be classified as jewelry or accessory. It could also be something like a phone case, wallet, ear buds, etc. would also be acceptable. Be creative and inventive with this project and try to come up with a revolutionary concept. You will be the developer, designer, and marketer for this project.  Use Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator) & Tinker Cad (OR 3D  modeling of your choice as long as it exports as a .stl or .3ds file) to execute your idea. This is an involved project and will count as almost half of your final grade.  Here is an important timeline to stay on track.

NOVEMBER 8th - Post your concept/ artwork to blog -this can include hand drawn sketches, photos for inspiration (don't just google jewelry look to other sources to be inspired such as nature, landscapes, machinery, microorganisms etc). This post should indicate that you have a clear idea or direction for this project. A blue working blue print.

NOVEMBER 17th - 3D Model of your design should be completely finished and posted to the blog.

NOVEMBER 22nd - Packaging should be posted to the blog - your packaging should be shown FLAT as well as mocked up. You will need to make a physical representation of your design. I will use this opportunity to discuss documenting artwork.

NOVEMBER 24th- Happy Thanksgiving!

NOVEMBER 29th- Design a promotion piece for your product. This could be a mock website, a poster, a commercial, a social media ad. Be creative and ask yourself how can I get the attention of my potential audience/customers.

Initial concept sketches due posted on the blog November 8th

Start by brainstorming a design. Consider the function as well as the overall appearance. Consider comfort as well as function. Is it high fashion or unique? What sets your design apart from others....how is it different or better? You should include your original concept sketches on paper in your blog post. Develop your drawing into a working orthographic drawing showcasing as least 3 views of your design such as TOP VIEW, SIDE VIEW, and FRONT VIEW. This will be very helpful in modeling.

Using TINKER CAD model your design in 3D.

Create packaging and a promotional piece (example poster, fllyer, commercial etc) that will sell your design as well as inform the consumer. I will post another blog post with more information about these details.
