Map
I have extended your portfolio will be due on Monday March 20th. It should include your trading card front and back as well as your finished map. I have included 3 maps for inspiration. Remember these should be decorative and functional. My sons friend created a map in her sketchbook by spilling rice on the pages to randomly place objects, trees, etc (see below). I believe she got the idea on TIK TOK. I have also included a zoo map from the Knoxville Zoo as well as a map from Leo Belgicus by Hondius & Gerritsz, 1630.
Make your maps detailed, visually interesting, and user friendly.
Use the following tools/processes we covered in class to help create your finished map
The pen tool
The shape tool
Pathfinder
Stroke and brushes
Fills and patterns

Concept: an island town designed like a video game map but the details are colored like a Minecraft map.
I need to watch more tutorials.
For my map, I want to create something based off of the Witcher videogame series. There isn't really any treasure maps in the Witcher, so I wanted to make one that fits within the world. Im still brainstorming so I don't have a visual representation of my project.
For my map, I would like to make it dog themed. I have still been trying to come up with ideas on how to accomplish this concept, but I would like to make it recognizable that the only inhabitants that live there are dogs.
I’m creating a fictitious map. I’m no where near done, I plan on weathering the map and adding a lot more landmarks and things like that, and of course I need to find a font, the N, S, E, and W are just a place holder for now. Really I just picked a fictitious map for the fun of creating something new, and I’ve been wanting to try out a way to create the land masses that I have seen others do before.
