My second project was a four piece project using external photos. My theme was "nostalgia".

My third project was to create a ficticious currency. My currency is for the alien people from the movie "Arrival". Their language is written in the air with ink from their tentacles. The words are circular and are written simultaniously from left to right.

Project 1:

For my first project I created a series of four drawings which show the progression of nature taking over the subject.

Project 2:

For my second project I wanted to further explore my concept for the first project, but instead of nature taking over, the subjects are living in harmony with, and becoming one with nature. 

Project 3:

For my third project I was inspired by the concept of “making a deal with the devil” and created my own interpretation of what a form of currency might look like to serve as a form of “proof” of the deal.

Our last project so far was to make currency with Illustrator, so I went for a Jack-o-Lantern themed dollar forged only in Illustrator. Perfect for getting some candy on Halloween night!

Midterm Portfolio of Creativity!

 This was from the first project where we were asked to draw everything we created.

The second project we used many different images to create one new image of our own. 

I really enjoyed this one cause I was able to play around with some Halloween themes and create spooky, fun images!

For the third project we had to create some form of Currency. I believe plastic is the most used and will continue to be the widest used form of financial exchange. Therefore, my currency is in the form of a credit card. 

  

 
 

Midterm Portfolio Reminder

 Just a friendly reminder that your Midterm Portfolio should be posted on the blog no later than midnight today. Please make sure it includes Projects 1, 2, and 3 in SINGLE well designed and organized post. Please include captions and titles where appropriate. Remember that in order to post your currency you must save from Illustrator as a .jpg or use a screenshot.

I tried way too hard to consider what the future of money looks like and I couldn't come up with anything I wanted to commit to which made me put this project off until this last weekend. I decided that in my future I hope we will be able to communicate with our cute doggos so I made my dog Gooby a treat card. Get your own darn treats, Goobs.

Calligraphr - Making Your Own Fonts

 Just here sharing a cool free tool you can use in a bunch of different ways. They allow you to make your own template using characters from all different languages, along with a lot of arbitrary characters.

Once you select your characters it will give you a pdf to download, on which you can physically print or bring it into photoshop or procreate to draw in your characters, then scan back in to the website. It lets you adjust the space between the letters, if you want them to scatter or skew, etc. Lots of cool things.  I've downloaded fonts onto iPad, and PC and haven't had any issues with either.
